Robert McAtee as Aidan

Casting Descriptions:
She recently moved from North Dakota to the San Francisco Bay Area. She is somewhat naive but seeking broader horizons, especially in her avidly pursued hobby of bicycle racing. She is also intellectually curious, but not so adventurous that she appreciates the rather bizarre tasks that are thrust upon her when she reaches San Francisco. But there's more! Some boundaries between what is possible and impossible just don't work here. Amy finds this out from Vera, a very eccentric professor of Asian religion at Berkeley. Through no wish of her own, Amy becomes involved in helping the co lead Aidan in.... well, ask for a script and we'll be glad to oblige! (After the usual paranoid non-disclosure form polka. Oom-pah-pah, Oom-pah-pah.) She also doesn't ask for the growing venom emanating from Cassandra- August's [theoretical] "ex". Girl from North Dakota vs. pampered, gorgeous snob from the Social Register who can NOT believe she's losing out to this... this MOUSE. Someone who can play a curious ingenue who is rapidly maturing via exposure to the tragic, and who is smart and sympathetic would be best for this role. The ability to radiate a shy vulnerability and intense emotion are important. An actor with a genuine enthusiasm for sports, especially bicycle riding or racing would be a huge plus for this role. You should have some athleticism, so you don't look like someone who is sitting around all the time reading casting notices like this. You probably seriously studied dance or were competitive- or could have been- at one sport or another. Or you are just one of those hateful people with great genes and natural athletic ability. Please see the attached photo for two non-actors in Italy whom the producer Alain Lumina photographed on a bike trip through Italy, on the famous Mortirolo climb from the Giro D'Italia. Would you go out on a bike ride like this-- for fun, on your own, up a steep hill, for the adventure of it? Amy would. There is one scene where Amy is receiving a massage from the male co-lead after a bike race. She is lying face down with only bike shorts on, so her bare back suggests toplessness. Although there is no nudity, the dialog make it obvious they are going to have sex. One other very brief simulated sex scene without nudity is also required. We hope an actor will appreciate what is humane in this role, enjoy themselves, and grow through their collaboration with us in this role showing significant character growth and compassion. A great role to highlight your sympathetic character, athletic ability, and your sensuality. You get to play the cute underdog hero who...
well, I can't tell you if you win, but you sure put up a heartfelt
fight. ============================================================================== There will be scenes where the actor has to "wow" the female co-lead with a virtuosic performance in violin. It would be good if the performer has some stringed instrument training so he can at least fake the finger movements. This actor should be able to appreciate
romanticism and be more a sensitive, cultured though a bit sardonic
lead than a bad boy or a macho star.
Really not good. Seeing how Cassandra reacts, if I had been Amy I might have pointedly avoided doing this. Cassandra's pounded vanity propels her further and further into spite and vengefulness. She eventually comes unhinged and.... ask for a script and we will be quite pleased to oblige! There's some simulated sexuality (crude but not too graphic) and kissing (Very graphic). In Cassandra's case, sex may look emotionally a bit more like feeding than "making love." We hope an actor will enjoy themselves and
grow careening through this subtle (well, sort of) yet saucy part. 0 56
6 0 0 He's a Mozart of screwing up. Many contrapuntal lines, an endless stream of new themes, and the ultimate confidence of someone with an inborn gift. In our story, he's carefully picked the wrongest [sic], the scariest, the absolute worstest people to piss off. Then, when they try to reel him in-- does he back off, does he introduce an unexpected note of adaptive discord into his elegant symphony of screwups? Don't underestimate. This character is more distinctive than a
"bit" part, he is in five scenes and has a few short monologs totaling
roughly one to two minutes. They are some of my favorite edgeworld
scenes, driving in the desert at night, fumbling around a cheap motel.
22 126 0 0 0 The Overall man appears in dreams, and briefly in awaketime. He is a mute symbol of something to be
revealed. He reaches into his toolbox.
